Hard Candy...We Call It Fashion

It’s like Candy… I can feel it when you walk!

Never have I wanted to go to the candy store so bad until after seeing the Hard Candy Fashion Show, hosted by the fashion department of Middle Tennessee State University. Not only did it showcase some of the school’s talented models but also talented fashion designers. Never have I seen so many creative pieces of clothing.

As I arrived it was obvious that I was not the only one interested in what the students had to offer. The runway was decorated with plastic sprinkles, glitter, large lollipops and balloons. I also got to eat several pieces of candy before the show began as a gift to all those that came to support the Sweet looking outfits. Once the show started magenta strapless dress with cardboard squares and a little small pooch hit the runway first. It was then that I knew the chewy Now-and-Laters were not going to keep my attention any longer. The outfits had me on the edge of my seat, snapping pic after pic.

These students prepared different looks with things you never thought could hang off of a models body. They put their creative minds to work with dresses made of magazine pages, CDs, and slides from projectors. Each outfit was accompanied by a great shoe and a fun accessory, such as a small puppy, a large lollipop, or a small top hat. Just when I thought it couldn’t get any better the models also wore colorful make-up with high teased hair. The fashion show also included urban wear as well as a baby doll theme and bright highlighter colors of leggings and stiletto pumps. Vogue magazine is known for it's BOLDNESS and bringing HOTNESS with every issue. Well...What gets hotter than LeBron James gracing the cover with model Bombshell Gisele Bundchen? This Duo will be on the April cover of Vogue for it's annual issue for "Size and Shape" LeBron James is the 3rd man to be featured on the cover of Vogue where he is sporting a tank top, shorts and sneakers from his Nike clothing line collection. I advise EVERYONE sports and fashion lovers to go pick up a copy NEXT month that will feature other athlete and model pairs.
